Now Entering Blachley, Population 2...

Hey everyone!! It has been a while since my last post, you know how life can get busy and crazy unexpectedly. I hope the last couple days have been great for everyone. I can definitely say they have been amazing for me. Which is always a nice thing to get to say. I am currently at David’s house, sitting at Patti’s table with the sound of Jason Mraz playing in the background and Emersyn’s baby monitor singing its songs to me next to me. It’s a beautiful day out and it being the first of July, this summer is flying by. It’s hard to believe that in a month and a half I will be trudging through the mountains of Sisters, Oregon for a week before returning to George Fox to train and begin the new school year as a Resident Assistant. I think it is one of the biggest things I am looking forward to for next year...that, and the fact that David lives in a house about five steps from my dorm. No more hikes up the canyon! Whoo hoo!

Anyway, I am getting a little ahead of myself and posts about school are to come at a later time. So what have David and I been up to lately? We have both been working a lot, David more than I, but still. Working is working. With the release of the new iPhone, David has spent many crazy, chaotic days at Apple. David is a rock star at his job though. Seriously. His work ethic and professional standards are amazing. And I am not just saying that because I am dating him. :) My work has been going well too! We have more people closing at night so that definitely makes a store-wide impact. But I do not want to sit here and talk about my work because I think I could go on and on about different things, or unique guests/phone calls I receive. Haha, you can only imagine.

My last post I talked about how David and I like to go on adventures. Well we did it again! Our spontaneity amazes me. Every week David has Sunday and Mondays off of work whereas my schedule differs every week. Last Saturday David worked until 4:30 but we both had Sunday off and Monday I didn’t work until 3:00 pm. We wanted something fun to do since the weather has been so gorgeous and we had a couple days off together. After checking to see if anyone was at my beach house, David suggested that we travel to my lake house in Blachley, Oregon and spend the night there instead. This phone call happened around like 2:00 pm. By 4:00 I had the car packed of my stuff, sleeping bags, pillows, towels, life jackets and wet suits. By 7:00 David was off of work and we were completely packed up and ready to go. But first... David heard the ice cream man...

Seeing a grown man running down the road after the ice cream man with a jar of change in his hand is the funniest thing you could ever witness. Believe me. But that’s why I love him, plus he brought back Dora the Explorer for me, and Spongebob for him. :)

After this tasty snack we hit the road. We stopped in Junction City (about a half an hour from the lake) to get some food and decided instead of leaving the following night (Sunday night) we would get up and drive home early on Monday so I could make it home in time for work, but also allowing us one more night in our paradise.

We ended up getting there around 10 or 11pm so we were already pretty tired. We chatted with my grandma who had been there since Thursday before heading out to our dock to star gaze together. There is something about laying on the dock under a blanket, with the moon reflecting off the water, and a billion stars above you that really puts things in to perspective. We talked, counted shooting stars and just enjoyed each others company. It is the best feeling in the world.

Eating breakfast the next morning

After breakfast we went to the dock and played cards while sitting in the sun.

Then we were off on an adventure in our canoe-type boat called Tranquility. David was the rower.

After we got back we were dying of heat so we decided to go swimming. I told David I just wanted to slither in. He didn’t listen and pulled both of us into the water. Which was extremely unexpected but hilarious. I will get him back. David: consider yourself warned :)

David made us dinner next. It was delicious. He’s becoming my little griller man :) While our chicken was grilling we made a fire and played Scrabble against each other on his iPhone. It was so cute! (Don’t worry, I am holding his Coke and my water. Promise)

Overall we had an amazing weekend. Beautiful weather, gorgeous location and the best company possible. Although now we are home, completely sunburned and headed back to work, we definitely can’t wait to go again!

We love you all!
