I took care of her most of the day and finally convinced her to call in to work and get her shift covered, otherwise she would have had to work at 8:30. Jen's never called in sick to work, but I felt that she really needed to take my advice and call in. She did, but she felt really bad about doing it.
So last night, she had been feeling better, but I still wanted to make sure if she needed help I would be near, so I pumped up the air mattress and put it down next to my bed and slept right below her if she needed me I'd be there.
I always sleep with my AC on in the room, and for some reason I had become super cold. My muscles became so sore and I woke up at 7 shivering and my teeth were chattering. It was literally the coldest I'd ever been. I could hardly lift myself out of the mattress to get up and turn it off. I went to the restroom and came back, I was breathing really fast and my teeth were chattering so loud that it woke up Jen. She came over to me and rubbed my forehead. It was her turn to take care of me. She switched me spots and I moved to my bed and she went down to the mattress. She waited for me to fall back asleep.
I took some Ibuprofen when I woke up and I gradually became better throughout the morning but Jen remained really sick. Which brings us to her eating saltines next to me right now. I went to the store and got her some Pepto Bismol, saltines and 7UP.
I really appreciate how we're both willing to serve each other. As we head towards getting married in the future, I am so thankful that we can be there for each other. We love each other no matter what. Whether or not we're dressed up and spiffy or if we're collapsed on the bathroom floor recovering from too much slurpee and cheetos. We're there for each other.
I love you Jen. You make me less selfish and a better man for knowing and loving you.
Love,
David John Inglis Green
