Dancing in the Street

Hey everyone :) I hope that Friday was a nice transition into the weekend! I spent an amazing day in bed, sleeping, trying to recover from a cold while the love of my life was at work. David had to be up at about 4:00 am, and went to work by 6:00 am. After working for many, many hours, eleven to be exact David got off at 5:00 and drove to my house! :)

I really can't describe the feeling I get when I see him. It honestly doesn't matter if it’s been an hour, a day, or a week. I get the same elated-loss-of-breath-excited-blushing-can't-stop-smiling-butterflies-in-stomach-happy feeling EVERY TIME I see him. It's amazing.

Although I know he experiences something along those lines. I surprise him at work sometimes (like I did Thursday with two of my best girl friends) and his face lights up, and he too, can't stop smiling.

We are definitely in love.

I don't think it's just because of the "honeymoon" phase of our relationship either. We've been together for nearly five months and that feeling hasn't faded. I think part of the reason it hasn't faded is because we don't take our love for granted. We appreciate each other and what we do for one another.

I wanted to share a few of my favorite moments David and I have shared out of the millions. Because believe me, there are sooooo many fun things we have done together. These three were before we were dating...

One of the first things that we did was watch Horton Hears a Who together at his house during the school year. It was the night after we met and magic happened. That is all I am going to say for now. David's writing that will eventually be posted on here will fill you all in on our talk and everything that happened that night.

We also went up on the hill. There's a hill that David, Joel, Amy and I went to one night that looks down on Newberg, Sherwood, and possibly the Beaverton/Salem area. I'm not sure exactly what it looks over, but it's spectacular. The view is beautiful. The four of us went up there one night and just looked at the stars and spent time together. It was incredible.

Then there's dancing in the rain. Before David and I were dating, I had the opportunity to spend the day at David's sisters house and on our way home, David turned down this dead end road and told me to get out of the car. After he had me get out (in the rain, mind you) he turned up the song "Ready" and we danced in the middle of the street with his headlights shining on us.

That's when I knew he was it.

If I have time before work, I want to continue on summarizing some of the amazing stuff David and I have done together. I honestly believe blogging is great, especially to document growth between two people's relationship, or a baby growing up ;), or just what you are up to. Therefore I encourage everyone to create one.

We danced again last night. He was about to leave my house and got out of the car, turned on the song Ready and we danced in the street.

It's the small stuff that matters. David's love is real. He doesn't have to buy me things to show me that he loves me, which I love. He does little things. He surprises me with notes. He drives to my house to give me a kiss. He and I lie under the stars and talk about things that matter. It's moments like that, dancing in the street under the stars with the one I love, that I wouldn't trade for anything.

He's the best. I believe that.

I can't wait for our future.

David. I love you. Always and forever.
